Anil Chakravarthy Appointed President and CEO at Adobe

Adobe has appointed Anil Chakravarthy as its next President and Chief Executive Officer, effective December 1, 2026. He will also join Adobe’s Board of Directors, while current Chief Executive Officer Shantanu Narayen transitions to Executive Chair. Chakravarthy will lead Adobe as the company focuses on growth and expands its position in agentic software across creativity, productivity and customer experience.

Chakravarthy joined Adobe in 2020 as Executive Vice President and General Manager of its Digital Experience business and later became President of Customer Experience Orchestration and worldwide field operations. Before Adobe, he served as Chief Executive Officer of Informatica from 2015 to 2020, leading its transition toward cloud and subscription services. Earlier, he held executive leadership roles at Symantec and VeriSign. He began his career at McKinsey & Company, where he became co-leader of the E-Business Practice in its Silicon Valley Business Technology Office.

Why this matters: Chakravarthy’s appointment marks a major leadership transition at Adobe as the company navigates the shift toward generative and agentic AI. His experience scaling Adobe’s Customer Experience business, developing AI-driven products and previously transforming Informatica gives Adobe a CEO with both product and enterprise software experience as it seeks to turn AI innovation into its next phase of growth.
