Annie Shea Weckesser Appointed SVP and CMCO at Intel

Intel has announced the appointment of Annie Shea Weckesser as Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing & Communications Officer. In this role, she will lead Intel’s newly integrated global marketing and communications organization, unifying corporate reputation, brand strategy, and market engagement. The appointment gives Weckesser responsibility for shaping how Intel presents its products, innovation, and long-term story to customers, partners, and broader stakeholders.

Weckesser joins Intel from SambaNova, where she served as Chief Marketing Officer and helped build the company’s brand and drive demand for its AI platforms. Earlier in her career, she led U.S. marketing and communications at NIO Inc. and spent nearly a decade in global marketing and communications roles at Cisco. Her background spans brand building, demand generation, and corporate communications across fast-moving technology environments.

Why this matters: Intel’s decision to combine marketing and communications under one senior leader signals a stronger push to align brand, market engagement, and corporate narrative at a critical point in the company’s transformation. Bringing in a marketing leader from SambaNova also suggests Intel wants sharper storytelling and demand creation in an industry increasingly shaped by AI, platform competition, and stakeholder trust.
