Intel has appointed Aparna Bawa as Executive Vice President and Chief Legal & People Officer. In this role, she will lead Intel’s global legal, ethics, compliance, and people functions, aligning culture and governance as the company continues its transformation. The appointment gives Bawa responsibility for strengthening Intel’s legal and compliance foundation while advancing its people strategy and leadership culture.
Bawa joins Intel from Zoom, where she most recently served as Chief Operating Officer. At Zoom, she oversaw key operational, legal, and people functions during a period of rapid growth and global scale. Intel said her background includes deep experience across corporate governance, global compliance, employment, mergers and acquisitions, and organizational transformation.
Why this matters: Combining legal and people leadership under one executive signals that Intel is treating governance, culture, and execution as tightly linked priorities. At a time when the company is focused on transformation and organizational agility, bringing in a leader with operating experience from Zoom suggests Intel wants stronger alignment between business discipline, talent strategy, and enterprise accountability.
