Tanium has appointed Carol MacKinlay as its new Chief People Officer. In this role, she will lead the company’s global people strategy, with a focus on talent development, retention, and employee experience as Tanium continues to scale its business and leadership footprint. The appointment adds senior HR leadership as the company deepens its investment in culture and global team development.
MacKinlay joins Tanium from Pebl, where she served as Chief Human Resources Officer and helped lead a transformation centered on scale, performance, and culture. She brings more than 30 years of experience building and scaling people organizations across technology companies at different stages of growth, from startups to public enterprises. Additional reporting on her background notes prior senior people leadership roles at Binance.US, Plantronics, and Xero.
Why this matters: This appointment signals that Tanium sees people strategy as a core lever for scale, not just a support function. Bringing in a senior HR leader with transformation experience from Pebl and prior leadership across major tech brands suggests the company wants to strengthen organizational maturity, talent retention, and execution as it competes in a fast-moving cybersecurity and autonomous IT market.
