J.D. Williams, Ph.D. Appointed SVP and CDAO at GE HealthCare

GE HealthCare has appointed J.D. Williams, Ph.D., as Senior Vice President and Chief Data & Analytics Officer. In this role, he will lead the company’s global data and analytics strategy, helping unlock the value of data and artificial intelligence to enable better decision-making, accelerate innovation, and improve outcomes for patients worldwide.

Williams joins GE HealthCare from Zoetis, where he served as Vice President and Chief Data and Analytics Officer after leading the company’s Business Insights and Analytics organization. Before Zoetis, he spent more than four years at Eli Lilly and Company, where he helped build and scale global advanced analytics capabilities across commercial operations. Earlier in his career, he founded and led the Business Analytics team at Dow AgroSciences and held senior analytics leadership roles at JPMorgan Chase and GE Research.

Why this matters: GE HealthCare’s appointment of a dedicated Chief Data & Analytics Officer signals the growing role of data and AI in medical technology, diagnostics, and patient care. Williams’ background across animal health, pharmaceuticals, financial services, and industrial research gives GE HealthCare a cross-sector analytics leader as it looks to turn data into stronger clinical, operational, and innovation outcomes.
