Lou Malnati's Pizzeria has appointed Jeff Douglas as Chief Technology Officer. In the role, he will guide the company’s technology roadmap as it continues to strengthen digital capabilities and operational systems across the business. The company said Douglas brings more than 20 years of experience leading technology strategy, development, and operations, with a mandate centered on business impact and team leadership.
Douglas joins Lou Malnati's with a background spanning restaurant and financial services technology leadership. Earlier in his career, he served as Chief Information Officer at Potbelly Sandwich Works, where the company said he brought a mix of restaurant and financial industry experience to its technology initiatives. Before that, he was Senior Vice President of Information Technology at Levy Restaurants and previously Vice President of Technology at Options Clearing Corporation.
Why this matters: For restaurant brands, the CTO role increasingly sits at the center of guest experience, store operations, and multi-unit scalability. Bringing in a technology leader with experience across restaurant systems and enterprise operations suggests Lou Malnati's is investing in digital infrastructure as a growth lever, not just a support function, as it continues modernizing the brand’s operational backbone.
