Accendra Health has appointed Kenneth Gardner-Smith as President and Chief Executive Officer, effective October 5, 2026. Gardner-Smith, who has served on the company’s Board of Directors since March 2022, succeeds Edward A. Pesicka. He will lead Accendra Health’s next phase of growth, with a focus on operational execution, higher-margin opportunities and scaling its home-based care business. SEC
Gardner-Smith most recently served as Chief Executive Officer of Veritas Veterinary Partners, where he led a strategy reset and executive rebuild that produced double-digit average quarterly revenue growth and margin expansion. Before Veritas, he spent more than 13 years at DaVita, including serving as Chief People Officer and holding several senior operating leadership roles. Earlier, he worked in investment banking at Morgan Stanley, focused on mergers and acquisitions. He began his career as a relationship manager at Wells Fargo. jhconline.com
Why this matters: Gardner-Smith brings direct experience managing large-scale healthcare operations as Accendra Health focuses on profitable growth and stronger execution. His combination of operational leadership at DaVita and transformation experience at Veritas Veterinary Partners could help the company scale its home-based care platform while improving organizational and financial performance.
