Kyle Kinnard Appointed COO at Walmart U.S.

Walmart U.S. has appointed Kyle Kinnard as Chief Operating Officer. In this role, he will oversee operations for Walmart’s U.S. business while continuing to serve as Chair of the Board of Directors for Walmart de México y Centroamérica. His appointment comes as Walmart continues strengthening store operations, customer experience, and execution across its largest market.

Kinnard has spent more than 25 years at Walmart across Walmart U.S., Walmart International, and Sam’s Club. Most recently, he served as Chief Operating Officer for Walmart International, overseeing international markets including Mexico, Central America, Canada, Chile, and South Africa. Earlier in his career, he held senior roles with Sam’s Club China and Sam’s Club Mexico, served as Senior Vice President of Home for Walmart U.S., and later led Health and Wellness for Walmart U.S.

Why this matters: Walmart’s appointment of Kinnard signals a focus on operational consistency, cross-market learning, and execution discipline across its U.S. business. His experience across Walmart International, Sam’s Club, merchandising, and Health and Wellness gives the company an operator with deep institutional knowledge as it balances store performance, digital growth, and customer value.
