Mark Carter Appointed CISO at Socure

Socure has appointed Mark Carter as Chief Information Security Officer. In this newly created role, he will lead the company's enterprise-wide security, cyber risk, governance, compliance, resilience, and information technology strategy. Carter will oversee initiatives designed to strengthen Socure's security posture as the company continues expanding its AI-powered identity verification and fraud prevention platform.

Carter brings more than two decades of experience leading cybersecurity and enterprise technology organizations. Prior to joining Socure, he served as Chief Information Security Officer at Apiture, where he led the company's security, governance, risk, and compliance programs. Earlier in his career, he held senior information security leadership roles across the financial services and technology sectors, building expertise in cyber resilience, regulatory compliance, and enterprise risk management.

Why this matters: As identity fraud becomes increasingly sophisticated in the age of AI, security leadership has become a strategic differentiator for digital identity platforms. By appointing an experienced cybersecurity executive, Socure is reinforcing its commitment to protecting customer data while scaling its identity verification and fraud prevention capabilities for highly regulated industries.
