Six Flags Entertainment Corporation has appointed Mark Pauls as Chief Operating Officer. In this role, he will help enhance the company’s operating model, build a more resilient organization, and support Six Flags’ strategy to improve performance. Pauls succeeds Tim Fisher, who will serve as Special Advisor to the company through December 15, 2026, to support the transition.
Pauls brings nearly five decades of experience in the entertainment industry. Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President of Operations at Herschend Family Entertainment, where he played a key role in the integration of Palace Entertainment. Prior to Herschend’s acquisition of Palace Entertainment, he was Vice President of Operations at Palace Entertainment, overseeing operations across the company’s nationwide portfolio, and earlier held senior operating roles at SeaWorld Parks and Busch Gardens.
Why this matters: Six Flags is strengthening its operating leadership at a time when large amusement park operators are focused on improving guest experience, cost discipline, and portfolio performance. Pauls’ background across Herschend Family Entertainment, Palace Entertainment, SeaWorld Parks, and Busch Gardens gives the company an operator with direct experience managing complex park networks and integration work.
