Max Christoff Appointed CTO at Everlaw

Everlaw has announced the appointment of Max Christoff as its first Chief Technology Officer. In his new role, Christoff will work alongside Everlaw’s leadership team to define the company’s strategic vision for innovation in the rapidly evolving legal technology sector. The appointment comes as Everlaw continues expanding its AI capabilities and scaling its product and engineering organization.

Before joining Everlaw, Christoff spent 14 years at Google, where he led major engineering initiatives including the Chrome Browser engineering team and helped build products used by billions of people. Prior to Google, he was CTO of Enterprise Infrastructure at Morgan Stanley and also held a range of software engineering and leadership roles there. His background combines large-scale consumer technology, enterprise infrastructure, and applied product innovation.

Why this matters: Appointing a first CTO with deep Google and Morgan Stanley experience signals that Everlaw is investing in senior technical leadership as legal technology becomes more AI-driven and product complexity increases. It suggests the company is preparing not just for feature expansion, but for a more deliberate innovation roadmap and stronger engineering scale as competition in legal tech intensifies.
