Michael Bruns Appointed CEO at KPA

KPA has announced the appointment of Michael Bruns as its new Chief Executive Officer. Bruns brings more than 30 years of executive leadership experience in the technology sector and was named to lead the company through its next phase of growth, innovation, and expansion. He succeeds Chris Fanning, who moved into a Special Advisor role to the board.

Bruns joined KPA in 2019 and had most recently served as Chief Financial Officer, where he helped guide the company during a period of rapid growth. His broader background includes leadership experience scaling software businesses, and he later went on to become CEO of Novara following KPA’s business separation in early 2026, which confirms his prior CEO role at KPA.

Why this matters: This appointment signals a leadership move rooted in operational continuity rather than an outside reset. Elevating KPA’s CFO to CEO suggests the company wanted a leader already close to its growth strategy, customer expansion efforts, and financial execution, especially as compliance and risk-management software providers face growing pressure to scale efficiently while deepening vertical focus.
