Nick Studer Appointed President and CEO at Marsh Risk

Marsh has appointed Nick Studer as President and Chief Executive Officer of Marsh Risk. He will lead the business as the firm looks to support its next phase of growth and service innovation, drawing on his experience across consulting and enterprise leadership. The appointment takes effect April 1, 2026.

Studer joins the role from within Marsh McLennan, where he serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of Oliver Wyman and Marsh Management Consulting, as well as Vice Chair of Marsh. He joined Oliver Wyman nearly 30 years ago and has spent the last five years as its chief executive, following earlier leadership roles including Managing Partner of the Consumer, Industrial and Services Practice, Managing Partner of the Financial Services Practice, and Head of the European Finance and Risk Practice. Across that career, he has advised chief executives and senior leaders on governance, strategy, financial planning, risk management, and regulatory response.

Why this matters: Marsh Risk is elevating a long-tenured strategic advisor rather than bringing in an external operator, which signals continuity with a sharper emphasis on enterprise counsel, client growth, and service innovation. At a time when risk leaders are dealing with macroeconomic volatility, regulatory pressure, and complex transformation agendas, Studer’s consulting background suggests Marsh is positioning its risk business to compete more aggressively on strategic advisory depth, not just brokerage scale.
