Altera has appointed Nishit Sahay as Chief Information Officer. In his new role, Sahay will lead the company’s global technology strategy and IT organization, with responsibility for strengthening cybersecurity, expanding the use of enterprise data, and advancing artificial intelligence across the business. He will also focus on building secure, scalable technology infrastructure to support Altera’s long-term growth as an independent FPGA company. Altera
Sahay joins Altera from Marvell Technology, where he served as Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer, leading corporate IT, the Data Office, and enterprise AI initiatives. Before becoming CIO at Marvell, he led enterprise business applications and supported major digital transformation and M&A integration programs. Earlier in his career, he held technology leadership roles at Maxim Integrated and SAP, with additional experience at The Coca-Cola Company and Larsen & Toubro Infotech. Infosys
Why this matters: Sahay’s appointment comes as Altera builds the enterprise technology foundation required to operate and scale as an independent semiconductor company. His experience across Marvell and Maxim Integrated gives Altera a CIO with direct semiconductor expertise, while his background in data, AI, and large-scale transformation could help connect operational efficiency with the company’s broader technology growth strategy.
