Rackspace Technology has appointed Paul J. Guerra as Chief Information Security Officer. In the role, he will lead the company’s global information security strategy, reinforcing its commitment to secure multicloud environments and trusted customer partnerships. The appointment comes as enterprises place greater emphasis on cloud security, governance, and resilience across increasingly complex technology estates.
Guerra joins Rackspace Technology from StockX, where he served as Chief Security Officer and Chief Information Security Officer with oversight spanning information security, data protection, trust and safety, fraud, and brand protection. Earlier in his career, he helped mature the security program at Rackspace and was later recruited to Yahoo’s security organization following its major breach response. He also served as Chief Security Officer at Argo Group, adding insurance-sector cybersecurity leadership to a career that has spanned enterprise security, governance, and operational risk.
Why this matters: For managed cloud and multicloud providers, the CISO role is directly tied to customer trust, platform credibility, and enterprise deal velocity. Bringing in a leader with experience across cloud, ecommerce, and regulated industry security suggests Rackspace is positioning security as a sharper competitive differentiator as customers demand stronger assurance around multicloud operations and risk management.
