Clari + Salesloft has appointed Peter Liebert V as Chief Information Security Officer. In the role, he will lead a unified security strategy across the combined company, integrating security programs, governance, and operations as the business continues its post-merger integration. He will report directly to Chief Executive Officer Steve Cox, underscoring the role’s importance within the company’s executive structure.
Liebert brings more than two decades of cybersecurity leadership experience across private equity, government, and enterprise environments. Most recently, he served as Vice President of Cybersecurity at Vista Equity Partners, where he jointly oversaw cyber risk across a large portfolio of SaaS assets. Earlier, he served as Chief Information Security Officer for the State of California, managing security across critical infrastructure, sensitive citizen data, and complex regulatory requirements, and he is also a recipient of the RSA Conference CSO of the Year award.
Why this matters: Security leadership at combined software companies is often a signal of integration maturity, especially when platforms, customer data, and AI capabilities are converging under one operating model. For Clari + Salesloft, appointing a CEO-reporting CISO suggests security is being positioned as a core trust and governance layer for its Predictive Revenue System, not just a compliance function, as the company scales its unified platform.
