Roberto Mercadé Appointed CCO at The Coca-Cola Company

The Coca-Cola Company has appointed Roberto Mercadé as Chief Customer and Commercial Officer, effective November 1, 2026. He will report to Global Chief Marketing and Customer Commercial Officer Manolo Arroyo and assume leadership of the company’s Customer Commercial organization. Mercadé will transition from his current role as President of The McDonald’s Division, where he has led Coca-Cola’s global relationship with McDonald’s since 2023.

Mercadé has spent more than three decades with The Coca-Cola Company, joining in 1992 as a production services manager in Puerto Rico. He later served as General Manager of the Venezuela and Caribbean franchise unit, General Manager in South Africa, and leader of the South Pacific business unit in Australia. In 2018, he became President of the Latin Center business unit before being named Mexico Zone President in 2021. He moved into leadership of The McDonald’s Division in 2023, overseeing Coca-Cola’s relationship with McDonald’s across more than 100 markets.

Why this matters: Moving a veteran international operator into the Customer Commercial function gives Coca-Cola a leader with extensive experience across markets, franchise operations, and one of its most strategically important global customer relationships. Mercadé’s appointment signals continued emphasis on connecting customer strategy with commercial execution across Coca-Cola’s global system. His experience across Latin America, Africa, Asia-Pacific and global account leadership gives him a broad operating perspective as the company coordinates growth across customers and markets.
