Ryan Davis Appointed CISO at New Charter Technologies

New Charter Technologies has appointed Ryan Davis as Chief Information Security Officer. In this role, he will focus on advancing the company’s cybersecurity posture and strategy to keep pace with an evolving threat landscape. The appointment places Davis at the center of New Charter’s efforts to strengthen security across its platform while supporting the company’s broader growth and technology agenda.

Davis joins New Charter from IBM, where he served as a business unit Chief Information Security Officer overseeing security across more than a dozen products following IBM’s acquisition of NS1. Prior to IBM, he was Chief Information Security Officer and interim Chief Information Officer at Veracode, where he built the internal information security team and led security across internal operations and client-facing programs. Earlier in his career, he worked at MIT Lincoln Laboratory, contributing to information assurance strategies for classified national security initiatives.

Why this matters: This appointment signals that New Charter is treating cybersecurity as a strategic differentiator rather than a back-office requirement. Bringing in a leader with experience across enterprise software, product security, and national security-grade information assurance suggests the company is preparing for a more security-led operating model as managed services providers face rising client expectations around trust, resilience, and governance.
