Sarah Scharf Appointed CMO at Vanta

Vanta has appointed Sarah Scharf as Chief Marketing Officer. In her new role, she will oversee the company’s entire marketing organization, including product marketing, brand, communications, content, growth and revenue marketing. Scharf joins Vanta’s executive team and will report directly to Chief Executive Officer Christina Cacioppo as the company expands its positioning around trust and AI.

Scharf joined Vanta in 2020 as its first product marketer and has since led nearly every function across the marketing organization, helping shape the company’s positioning through automated compliance, trust management and agentic trust. Before Vanta, she spent seven years at Google in product marketing roles spanning privacy and security, Next Billion Users, Android and Google Play. Earlier in her career, she worked in product marketing at Net Power & Light and in Strategy & Operations at Deloitte Consulting.

Why this matters: Promoting a longtime internal marketing leader signals continuity as Vanta evolves from a compliance platform toward a broader agentic trust category. With the company having surpassed $300 million in annual recurring revenue, Scharf’s experience shaping Vanta’s previous category transitions positions her to connect its next phase of growth with the rising demand for security, governance and trust around AI.
