ACV Auctions has appointed Tim Fox as Chief Financial Officer, effective August 11, 2026. Fox will help advance the company’s financial strategy and support its focus on creating long-term shareholder value. He succeeds Bill Zerella, who is departing the company and will remain in an advisory role through October 2 to support the transition.
Fox has been with ACV Auctions since 2021, initially joining as Vice President of Investor Relations before becoming Vice President of Investor Relations and Strategic Finance in 2024. In that role, his responsibilities expanded to include long-term financial planning, capital allocation, product launches, go-to-market strategies and operational execution. Before joining ACV, Fox spent a decade at PTC, where he served as Senior Vice President of Investor Relations and previously as Vice President of Finance, Operations and Strategic Planning for its Enterprise Segments. He brings more than 35 years of experience across finance, equity investment, strategy and operations.
Why this matters: Promoting Fox from within gives ACV a CFO who already has direct knowledge of its financial strategy, capital allocation priorities and relationship with investors. The continuity could be particularly valuable as the digital automotive marketplace balances continued revenue growth with its focus on profitability and long-term shareholder value.
