Amy Weisenbach Appointed CMO at Coursera

Coursera has appointed Amy Weisenbach as Chief Marketing Officer, effective November 30, 2026. In this role, she will lead the company’s marketing strategy as Coursera expands its reach across learners, partners, and customers. Her focus will include strengthening learner engagement, building relationships with Coursera’s global community, and supporting the company’s next phase of growth.

Weisenbach most recently served as Chief Marketing Officer at The New York Times, where she led marketing across News, Games, Cooking, Audio, Wirecutter, and The Athletic. Her work focused on attracting new audiences, increasing engagement, and supporting subscription growth through brand and performance marketing. Earlier in her career, she led global marketing at Wilson Sporting Goods and held marketing roles at Beam Suntory and Unilever.

Why this matters: Weisenbach joins Coursera as the company brings Coursera and Udemy together and looks to deepen engagement across a much larger global learning audience. Her experience growing digital subscriptions and expanding consumer engagement at The New York Times gives Coursera relevant expertise as it competes for learner attention in an increasingly AI-driven education market.
