Critical Start has appointed Francine Geist as Chief Executive Officer. In this role, she will lead the cybersecurity company as it builds on its momentum and continues delivering cybersecurity products and services to its customers. Her appointment is effective immediately and follows Scott White’s decision to step down as Chief Executive Officer.
Geist joins Critical Start from LiveAction, where she served as Chief Executive Officer and led the company through accelerated annual recurring revenue growth, improved profitability, and its acquisition by BlueCat Networks. Before becoming Chief Executive Officer at LiveAction, she served as the company’s Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operating Officer, and President. She brings more than 25 years of experience across enterprise software, cybersecurity, growth-focused operations, and channel-driven businesses.
Why this matters: Critical Start’s appointment of Geist signals a focus on scaling a cybersecurity business with stronger operating discipline and growth execution. Her background at LiveAction, including its acquisition by BlueCat Networks, gives Critical Start a leader with direct experience in enterprise software growth, profitability, and cybersecurity-adjacent markets.
