Tropical Smoothie Cafe has appointed Joe Sieve as Chief Development & Growth Officer. In his new role, Sieve will lead the brand’s franchise development strategy and growth initiatives as it continues expanding its footprint across the United States. He joined the company in July ahead of the planned retirement of longtime development leader Cheryl Fletcher.
Sieve brings decades of franchise development and restaurant operations experience. Most recently, he served as Chief Operations & Global Development Officer at Papa Johns, helping lead growth across a global system of more than 6,000 restaurants. Earlier in his career, he spent six years at Inspire Brands as Vice President of Franchise Development and held strategic growth leadership roles at Domino’s Pizza. He also has direct franchisee experience, having built a portfolio of 58 Domino’s restaurants.
Why this matters: Sieve joins Tropical Smoothie Cafe as the brand operates more than 1,750 locations and has a development pipeline exceeding 900 future cafes. His experience scaling large franchise systems at Papa Johns, Inspire Brands and Domino’s could help the company convert that pipeline into sustainable unit growth while maintaining strong franchisee support.
