Lance Ludman Appointed CFO at SurveyMonkey

SurveyMonkey has announced the appointment of Lance Ludman as Chief Financial Officer. In this role, he will lead the company’s global financial strategy, fiscal planning, and performance management as SurveyMonkey continues to scale its surveys and forms platform. The appointment places Ludman in charge of the company’s core finance function, including planning, accounting, tax, and treasury.

Before joining SurveyMonkey, Ludman most recently served as Chief Financial Officer at Benevity, the corporate purpose software company. Prior to that, he was Chief Financial Officer at DreamBox Learning, and from 2010 to 2019 he held multiple senior leadership roles at Blackbaud, including CFO for International. His background spans SaaS, education technology, and finance leadership in growth-oriented software businesses.

Why this matters: Bringing in a CFO with experience across Benevity, DreamBox Learning, and Blackbaud signals that SurveyMonkey is prioritizing financial discipline alongside growth. For a software platform operating in a competitive data and feedback market, finance leadership is not just about reporting, it is about helping the company scale efficiently, allocate capital well, and support its next stage of expansion.
