MUFG has appointed Prasad Uddaraju as its first Chief Data and Artificial Intelligence Officer. In this newly established role, he will oversee the organization's enterprise data and artificial intelligence initiatives, helping strengthen data capabilities, modernize technology platforms, and accelerate the responsible adoption of AI across the global financial institution.
Uddaraju joins MUFG from JPMorgan Chase, where he most recently served as Managing Director of Data and Analytics. Before that, he was Chief Data Officer at First Republic Bank, where he led enterprise data strategy and governance. Following JPMorgan Chase's acquisition of First Republic in 2023, he played a key role in integrating the two organizations' data platforms and capabilities, bringing more than two decades of experience in enterprise data, AI, cloud engineering, and financial services transformation.
